About Graham: he formed Piste To Powder in the mid 1990's and has steadily built up a guide team to cater for the English market in St.Anton. The operation expanded worldwide offering ski expeditions off the beaten track ranging from the Himalays, Alaska, Norway and Greenland where first descents for guests have been skied. In 2008 Graham built the Lyngen Lodge in the Lyngen Alps of Norway and offers one of the world's premier ski touring destinations skiing from a luxury lodge accessing the surrounding mountains by speed boat and skiing from Summit To Sea in this remarkable Arctic region. Favourite Off Piste: I have to give you three.. 1. Malfontal over the back of Rendl because it's quiet , there are many Ibex and the scenery is stunning 2. The Valluga because it's so full of surprises for the guests - there's so much emotion at the top, some make emergency phone calls to loved ones, some hug you, some cry, some go home but for most it's a highlight of their holiday skiing the north face or down the Bridge Couloir. 3. My real favourite is standing at the top of Store KÃ¥gtindan in the Lyngen Alps of Norway. The summit is a dome of rock and snow and the scenery magnificent. The skiing provides 1300m of insane skiing straight into the sea. Ski it in May in the midnight sun and you're in heaven. Ok it's not St.Anton but you asked me!!
What do you like most about guiding: I like taking people to places they wouldn't find on their own. I love seeing people enthusiastic and psyched for skiing and finding good snow when the conditions are tough.
Tip for skiing off piste with me: I like enthusiasm and a go for it attitude - don't be afraid of the wipe out.. love a little speed and the fall line, laugh lots and think of your core muscles...remember jelly fish don't ski.
When not Skiing? Usually eating and up at the Lyngen Lodge in Norway and enjoying the wonderful nature there.
